Kids Classes

Martial arts can be an excellent way for children to learn life skills such as discipline, mental strength, focus, teamwork and confidence. They’ll make new friends, discover new skills and improve physically and mentally, with the addition of a well structured class and an experienced teacher.

At Phoenix MMA we’ve created a safe and friendly atmosphere that helps children learn disciplines such as Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA and Muay Thai. Each class is taken by an experienced and qualified coach who can help even the shyest of children out of their shell and onto the mat.

Not only does martial arts give children a feeling of accomplishment and promote social skills, but it also teaches some basic self defence techniques that can help them feel more confident around their peers.

We’re more than happy for you to bring your child along for a taster session to see how they get on before committing – Get in touch.

The Benefits of Mixed Martial Arts

Our Mixed Kids Martial Arts (MMA) for children are an excellent way to encourage your child to get fit and learn a host of life and people skills along the way. That’s because, as well as teaching youngsters how to defend themselves and improve their stamina and fitness, MMA also instills the values of respect, hard work and discipline along the way. As a result, your child will learn how to set goals, exert self-control and have confidence in their own abilities.

At Phoenix MMA our children’s classes are run by highly-trained instructors (some of the sport’s leading lights in the UK). The classes incorporate the best moves from a number of martial art and sports disciplines such as Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling and boxing. So, not only is your child given an ‘all-round’ martial arts education, but they will also get incredibly fit in the process.

A major benefit of learning MMA is that children who train can see the benefits pretty quickly. The combat aspect helps retain their interest and encourages them to improve over time. Meanwhile, just like other forms of exercise, MMA releases those happy hormones (endorphins) we all love – the ones that help your child relax and feel contents with their lot.
